INTRAMURALS 2019

Finally, after all the events that happened comes the most awaited moment which is the Closing Ceremony wherein the awarding of winners and the announcement of the overall champion of the intramurals will take place. However, before the closing ceremony that took place in the late afternoon of March 21, 2019 inside the JHS Complex covered court, there are events such as the track and field and exhibition games that happened in the morning, as well as the hiphop competition that also took place in the afternoon.

Track Events

Track events such as sprint, relay, and long jump took place in the University Oval of DLSU-D. Unlike from the other sports competition, these events only have a few audiences because most of the students are gathered inside the JHS Complex covered court where team sports like basketball and volleyball were also being held. The students who decided to watch these events settled in the Grandstand wherein they continuously cheered for their friends and teammates that participated on the the said events.

A lot of events like 100 m sprint, 1200 m sprint, and relay experienced a lot of default from the different teams because of the lack of players. However, the fighting spirit of each team did not die down, in fact the situation made them even more determined to win those track events that they are part of. The players’ teammates and friends that are rooting for them also gave a maximum effort in cheering and supporting which in turn made the Grandstand looked like as if there are a lot of students even if there are only a small number of students within that area.

In the end, the White Wolves won majority of the gold medal which boosted the team’s fighting spirit because gaining a lot of gold medals means that the team would have an edge in being the overall champion of the intramurals.

Hiphop Competition

Hiphop competition which is the last event of the intramurals took place in the afternoon inside the JHS Complex covered court. This competition is one of the most memorable and exciting event that happened during the said intramurals because this showcases the talents of the participants in dancing which in no doubt is one of the most adored abilities today. Aside from that, this competition is also considered as a major one for it has a huge number of points that would help the winning team gain an edge in the overall champions plus since this is the last events, all of the students are present in the said venue.

Since it is a major event, each team made a huge effort in preparing and practicing and their preparations can be easily seen just by looking at their costumes. When it comes to their presentation, it is no doubt that they did not disappoint the audiences for all members of each team danced and presented their routine as if their life depended on it, in short all of them gave their best and maximum effort.

In turn, the audiences also gave their full effort in cheering for their team mainly because they want to show to everyone that they are 100% supporting their own team and that they are happy because their teammates are doing a really great job. Aside from that, the audiences’ spirit are also at maximum level because of the intensity of the steps and routines that each team are showcasing.

After all the hype and cheers, the Blue Fighting Marines won the hiphop competition which made the Blue team uproar in happiness. Their gold medal in hiphop competition also boosted the team’s fighting spirit because this gave them a chance in the overall competition.

Awarding

After all events and sports competitions that consumes a lot of time, effort, and energy of each students that participated in the intramurals 2019, comes the announcement of the overall champion which is the most anticipated event. During the said announcement, it is noticeable that majority of the students and teachers are at the peak of their emotions. Every single one of them are hoping to at least bag a place on the overall championship.

However, despite everyone’s efforts, three out of six teams can only bag a place in the overall championship and one team will only be considered as a winner or champion. In the end, the Black Bandits became the 2nd runner up of the intramurals 2019, followed by the Blue Fighting Marines who bagged the 1st place, and lastly the White Wolves who became the overall champion. After the announcement, different kinds of emotions was seen inside the JHS Complex covered court but these emotions are the positive ones that every student inside that area will surely cherished until the end.

It is important to keep in mind that winning and losing in not really the main point in joining such competitions. The most relevant part is actually the lessons that will be gained after all the experiences. Through these lessons, each individiual will be able to improve themselves which in turn will mold them into a better and more competent people. In joining competitions like intrams, one must always remember that it is about the journey, not the destination.
